The Scarborough Public Library invites you to a meeting of the Philosophers’ Club. The mediated discussions will explore a topic decided on by the group at the beginning of each meeting – no reading or preparation is required. Among the topics tackled so far are “Is there an afterlife?” “What is justice?” and “Is there a need for religion?” This gathering is not a debating society but rather a collegial exploration of ideas. Third Thursday of each month at 2:00. Call the Library for more information at 883-4723.
The Scarborough Lions Club meets at 7:00 P.M. on the first and third Thursdays of the month and is located at 236 Gorham Road (Route 114) on the right just after the overpass. Contact Kathryn Rolston at 329-5191 or krolstonpr@aol.com for more information. The Scarborough Lions Club welcomes new members.
